Volunteering
“One day I’ll do something good for people, one day I’ll volunteer to help animals that need love and care, one day I’ll go far away and experience another lifestyle…”
Well, your dreams can become true, here and now! Whatever your job is back home, whether you have experience in animal care or not, we need you as long as you, like us, have a passion for animals. So come on, break your routines, feel good about yourself and come volunteer with us.
Volunteer 1
♥ Come and visit us! If you have time to spare during your holiday, our dogs would be very happy to be walked a little extra.
♥ Talk to your resort. Maybe they can help us with some donations to allow us to function all year round.
♥ Help us locate the stray animals. Maybe there are some in the resort you’re staying in or around?
♥ If you don’t have the time but still would like to help, donations are greatly appreciated.
Volunteer 2
We always seek long-term volunteers who would stay at the site and be involved in the daily running of Lanta Animal Welfare.
♥ If you’re a Vet and would like to contribute to the control of the over-population of strays, and relieve the pain of suffering animals then this is for you. You would need to be ready to work in hard conditions and witness difficult situations. You would sterilise animals on a daily basis as well as examine pets brought by their owners. You will probably be out roaming the island for strays as well; a great way to get fresh air!
♥ If you’re an animal lover and want to bring some happiness to these homeless animals, come and join us for an experience surrounded by love. You will be involved in the daily routine which includes basic care (walking, feeding, cleaning, socialising, giving treatment to ill or recovering animals), admin, assistance to the vet, education, reception at the clinic, catching strays and more.
You will get so much more back from the animals than you think.
All volunteers will have free, basic but comfortable accommodation and pick up from Krabi airport (food at your own expense). You will have support the whole time you stay with us, an introduction to the island, a volunteer hand-book and a great experience! Successful candidates will need to be hard working, enthusiastic, ready to learn new things and proactive. Unlike many animal welfare associations, we DO NOT charge you to come and help.

Hello.
I am currently studying a HND in Animal Management but I am completing this in June 2011. I have been researching volunteer opportunities abroad and have stumbled accross your site. The work you are doing is amazing and I would love to become a long term volunteer at the end of my course. I have recently returned from a volunteer trip to the Indonesian jungle and have recently started volunteering at an animal rescue sanctuary here in Ireland.
Can you please send me some further information on becoming a longterm volunteer.
Many Thanks,
1Joanne
