Volunteering
“One day I’ll do something good, one day I’ll help animals that need love and care, one day I’ll go far away and experience another lifestyle…”
Well, your dreams can come true, here and now! Whatever your job is back home, whether you have experience in animal care or not, we need you. You just need a willingness to work hard and a passion to help the cats and dogs of Koh Lanta. Working at LAW is a rewarding and fulfilling experience…so come on, break your routine, feel good about yourself and come and help!
Long-term volunteers
We always seek long-term volunteers to stay on-site and be involved in the daily running of the centre.
♥ If you’re a vet and would like to contribute to controlling the over-population of strays and relieving the pain of suffering animals, then this is for you. You will need to be ready to work in hard conditions and witness difficult situations. You will sterilise animals on a daily basis as well as examine pets brought in by their owners. You will sometimes be out roaming the island for strays as well; a great way to get fresh air! We also welcome recent graduates and nurses. Vet students are asked to apply for a General Volunteer position.

♥ If you’re an animal lover and want to bring some happiness to these homeless animals, come and join us for an experience surrounded by love. You will be involved in the daily routine which includes basic care (walking, feeding, cleaning, socialising, giving treatment to ill or recovering animals), admin, assistance to the vet, education, fundraising, catching strays and more. You will get so much more back from the animals than you think.

All volunteers who stay a minimum of one month will have free, basic but comfortable accommodation (food is at your own expense). Please note that accommodation is limited and on a first come, first served basis; in the event that all our rooms are full at the time of your placement, you will need to find your own accommodation on the island. You will have support the whole time you stay with us, an introduction to the island and a great experience! Successful candidates will need to be hard working, enthusiastic, ready to learn new things and proactive. Unlike many animal welfare associations, we DO NOT charge you to come and help.
On top of this, Time for Lime offers all long-term volunteers (minimum one month stay) a free cooking class, staff prices at the bar and a 20% discount on food at the restaurant! That’s three other good reasons to come and help!

Tourists and holidaymakers
♥ Come and visit us! If you have time to spare during your holiday, our dogs would be very happy to be walked a little extra and our cats would love to hang out with you.
♥ Talk to your resort. Maybe they can help us with some donations or supplies to allow us to function all year round.
♥ Help us locate the stray, unsterilised animals. Maybe there are some in the resort you’re staying in or around the local area?
♥ If you don’t have the time but would still like to help, donations are always greatly appreciated.
